FAQ

Q: How can the Pelvic Wand help strengthen the pelvic muscle?

A: Pelvic Wand provides elastic resistance, which is essential for building muscles quickly and efficiently.

Exercising to build muscles is really only efficient if one is able to overPelvic Wand elastic resistance and push the muscle to its limits. In essence, fewer and longer contractions are more efficient than shorter and more frequent ones. As an alternative, for example, you can do the contractions twice a day for 40 seconds each, or at least as long as it takes for the muscle to bePelvic Wand exhausted. Relax for a few minutes and then repeat the exercise. Pelvic Wand was designed to utilise the muscle to press the middle arch together in an ideal fashion so as to avoid the occurrence of pseudo contractions.

When you release the tension, Pelvic Wand returns to its original shape. This means that optimal resistance is provided for the muscle each time you use it. Only in this way can the muscle be adequately challenged during each contraction.

Q: Why does Pelvic Wand have 3 arches?

A: The anatomically ideal shape of Pelvic Wand with the 3 arches guarantees the highest degree of comfort during use. Only the middle and small arch are actually inserted. The third arch which contains the indicator is never inserted into the vagina. It serves as a “stopper” and promotes the correct positioning of Pelvic Wand within the vaginal area.

Q: What material is Pelvic Wand made of? Could I possibly have an allergic reaction to the material?

A: Pelvic Wand is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) White Medical Dipping Plastisol, which is a material used specifically for medical purposes and tested to meet the ISO 10993 standards. Pelvic Wand is free of substances which produce allergies.

Q: Can I only exercise with Pelvic Wand while lying down?

A: No! You can use Pelvic Wand while sitting or standing, assuming your muscles are strong enough to easily prevent Pelvic Wand from sliding out.

Q: Can I use Pelvic Wand during my period?

A: In general, there is no reason not to, although check with your doctor beforehand.

Q: How do I know that I am exercising properly with Pelvic Wand?

A: In order for you to see as well as feel that you are training correctly, we have implemented the butterfly effect. This means that the indicator should be pulled out as far as possible before Pelvic Wand is inserted. When the exercises are being done properly, you can see for yourself how the indicator moves. It lowers when the muscle is contracted and lifts when you release the tension (similar to the wings of a butterfly). This gives you absolute assurance that you are exercising correctly.

Q: When will I begin to see results?

A: This varies from woman to woman. It depends upon the structure of your muscles. Studies have shown however, that success is usually apparent after a surprisingly short period of time.

Q: I’ve been using pads as an incontinence aid. Is Pelvic Wand a substitute for them?

A: The pads serve the purpose of containing the involuntary loss of urine. Pelvic Wand, on the other hand, serves to strengthen the affected muscle that causes the incontinence. This means that Pelvic Wand is not a substitute – on the contrary, using Pelvic Wand on a regular basis can quickly and effectively help you to avoid having to use pads at all.

Q: When can I start training with Pelvic Wand after giving birth?

A: Generally speaking a woman should always consult her doctor before beginning an exercise program for the pelvic floor muscles. Midwives and birthing assistants recommend beginning with very gentle pelvic exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and then continuing at a normal level after 6-8 weeks.

Q: How do I clean Pelvic Wand?

A: You should clean Pelvic Wand after each use by washing it with a mild soap under lukewarm, running water. Dry it thoroughly afterwards with a clean towel.

Please note: Thorough cleaning is an absolute necessity after EACH use.
